Hello! I’m Eleanor.
Why strategic and insight-led?
Truly strategic communication drives change – among individuals, organisations, communities and systems. But too often, it doesn’t hit the spot, wasting precious time, resources and opportunities. The reason? A lack of clarity.
I help organisations unpack and sense-check their ideas to produce a really clear plan, before moving on to produce measurable results that change lives.
How I got here
As a strategic communications consultant and coach, I’ve spent more than two decades helping organisations across health and social change unpick their thinking and articulate their messaging, to improve people’s lives.
In that time, I’ve worked with government bodies, NHS organisations, charities, universities and thinktanks, including a decade at The King’s Fund.
“Eleanor is a skilled and thoughtful communicator. She is a joy to work with and has helped us deliver work that has gone on to have significant impact. I cannot recommend her highly enough.”
Dr Jill Maben OBE
Professor of Health Services Research and Nursing, University of Surrey
My approach draws on social anthropology and qualitative research skills; co-production; filmmaking; in-house comms teams as well as on magazines, newspapers, book publishers; and my time volunteering as a Samaritan – along with many, many hours of writing, editing and managing large publishing projects.
I use a coaching approach across all my work, employing active listening and problem-solving techniques to identify and realise outcomes.
I also incorporate insights from the inspiring people I’ve worked alongside, including communicators, leaders, clinicians, academics and people with lived experience, as well as my own experiences as a carer, patient (as we all are) and friend.
I’m an Associate of the Royal Society of Medicine and a member of Charity Comms and the Patient Information Forum and I hold the Institute of Leadership’s ILM 7 certificate for executive and senior level coaching and mentoring.
