Hi, I’m Eleanor, an award-winning health communications and engagement consultant, coach and mentor.
I help health organisations develop clear, human communication that people trust, understand and act on – from insight through to delivery.
I’m writing a book for Routledge about exactly this – how to engage people and build trust in health communication – because it’s a growing problem and the thing I care about most.
People reach out to me when things feel stuck: when the usual approaches aren’t working, or things are too complex and multi-layered to unpick alone.
I work with healthcare providers, charities, universities, thinktanks and start-ups, helping them work out what matters, articulate it clearly and make real change happen.
My starting point is always deep listening. Together, we break down assumptions and uncover what’s really going on – for you, the people around you, and the people you need to reach.
Everything I do – from insight and strategy to content, coproduction and coaching – is built on that foundation.
Why good ideas stop short
When people aren’t engaging – not attending clinics, not adopting new systems or just uninspired by our ideas – often, we do more of the same: more emails, more information, more frustration. But if the approach is built on assumptions rather than genuine insight, doing more won’t fix it.
I start with listening, to understand what’s really going on – for the people you’re trying to reach and the colleagues you’re trying to bring with you. That shift, from assumption to curiosity, is what reveals how to earn trust. And then things can start to move.
The result: genuine human connection that engages people and builds trust.
